I am a Georgia girl and have been all my life. I was born and raised in South Georgia and love Georgia peaches. Georgia peaches are especially delicious in the awesome southern food favorite, homemade ice cream. Southern food boasts many rich and delicious southern desserts, but this is definitely and undeniably my favorite. I absolutely love homemade peach ice cream. I can’t imagine anyone having it and not loving it. Every summer, even now as an adult, I travel to my grandparents’ farm in southeast Georgia for our family reunion. Every year without fail, we have homemade peach ice cream. It’s the one time of year that I can count on having homemade peach ice cream. Unfortunately, I don’t have that recipe yet. This is a recipe that is much easier to make and less time consuming. It’s not quite as good, but it’s still quite wonderful.
What you’ll need:
· 4 cups of peeled, diced, and pitted peaches
· 1 cup of cane sugar
· 1 pint of half-and-half
· 1 can sweetened condensed milk
· 1 can of evaporated milk
· 1 tsp of vanilla extract
· 1 tsp of cinnamon
· 2 cups of whole milk
First you’ll need to take out your food processor or blender and mix the peaches, sugar, and half-and-half. You will also need a gallon sized ice cream maker container. Add the peach mixture, condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and whole milk to the gallon size container. Mix well. When you pour the milk, pour enough to make it to the fill line of the container. Freeze the ice cream according to the directions of the manufacturer.
